Story

A lithe human with a bow of yew, a hoofed beast with a blade of bone: these are the heroes sent to justify existence. Brought by the wrath of an apathetic pantheon, Ryder and Ashva landed in the world of Limbo - a serenely beautiful but lifeless landscape. Inhabited only by the ghosts of dark souls and the relics of long-ruined civilizations, Limbo provides a perilous backdrop for the two companions as they seek to satisfy the gods. These deities believe that humanity and all life on earth is imploding, destroying itself, caught in an endless battle. If Ashva and Ryder can prove that human and animal kind can still cooperate together, still act in a manner virtuous and honorable, the gods have offered the heroes ascendance, and the world reprieve. Otherwise, the two will remain in Limbo eternally, while the rest of existence fades into nothing.

In order to prove their worth, Ashva and Ryder set out across a world rife with opportunity. The Gods encourage the heroes to seek out virtues, some begotten by strength and valor, others by cunning and wisdom. As the heroes explore and interact with their environment, achieving virtues like Balance or Initiative, they grow more able and adept. With improved stamina, honed weapons, and a better understanding of one other, Ryder and Ashva can navigate to new, untouched areas, and even advance up the mountain of the gods to show, once and for all, that life will always endure.

It rests upon your shoulders to decide if Ashva will be the loyal steed and Ryder the valiant hero, or whether the wild stallion and lone rogue will wander Limbo forever.
